Restrictive Early Action or Regular Decision

Regular Decision

Regular Decision is Stanford’s traditional application option.  We employ the same standards for admission during the Regular Decision round as we do during the Restrictive Early Action round. The majority of admitted students are evaluated and offered admission during the Regular Decision round. The deadline for Regular Decision admission is January 1.  If you apply in the Regular Decision round, you will receive an admission decision by April 1 and have until May 1 to respond to our offer of admission if admitted.

Change of Application Plan

If you had originally applied under the Regular Decision admission round and would like to be considered as a Restrictive Early Action applicant, please follow the directions below.

• Request change in status by November 1 via email to credentials@stanford.edu.  Applicants must confirm that request has been received to ensure that change has been made.
• Withdraw any other early application you may have submitted by November 1.
