A Message from the Office of Admission

Stanford will move to the Common Application this summer.  The Common Application will now serve as Stanford's exclusive application and all applicants must apply electronically, completing both the Common Application and the Stanford Supplement on-line.

Our decision to move to the Common Application was not made to increase the number of applications we receive; rather, it results from our desire to streamline the admission process for both applicants and counselors. The Fall 2008 application will be available on the Common Application website after July 1, 2007. Comprehensive instructions on how to apply for admission to Stanford University using the new application format will be forthcoming.

We have also moved our Regular Decision application deadline to January 1 in an effort to reduce anxiety among our applicants and their counselors.  Our Restrictive/ Single-Choice Early Action deadline will continue to be November 1.
