Bobbie and Mike Wilsey Distinguished Lecture with internationally acclaimed artist Jaume Plensa
Monday, November 15, 6 pm, free admission
Best known in the United States for his spectacular work in Chicago's Millennium Park, The Crown Fountain, with changing LED projection of faces on glass towers, sprays of water, and reflecting pool. Plensa, who has received many international awards, has lived and worked in Berlin, Brussels, England, and France.

Chiaroscuro Woodcuts from 16th-Century Italy: Promised Gifts from the Kirk Edward Long Collection
Opens November 3
One of the glories of 16th-century Italian printmaking was the invention and proliferation of chiaroscuro woodcuts, the first technology for reproducing images in color. The 21 examples illustrate the capacity of this hybrid medium to achieve both linear and painterly effects in a medium that allowed for replication.

Vodoun/Vodounon: Portraits of Initiates
Through March 20
This exhibition features 25 compelling diptychs by the Belgian photographer Jean-Dominique Burton, who pairs black-and-white portraits with color photographs for a sensitive portrayal of Vodoun practitioners and their sacred shrines. Learn more about related programs.
MAMI WATA: Arts for Water Spirits in Africa and Its Diasporas
Through January 2
Beautiful, seductive, and protective, the water spirit Mami Wata (Mother Water) is often portrayed as a mermaid, a snake charmer, or a combination of both, honoring the essential sacred nature of water. This exhibition explores 500 years of representations of Mami Wata as depicted in traditional and contemporary sculpture, paintings, masks, altars, and more. Learn more about related performing arts and films. Free docent tours Thursday 12:15 pm, Saturday and Sunday 2 pm.

This installation features a variety of contemporary figurative paintings and sculptures in diverse media including bronze, clay, glass, and wood. Among the selections are examples by Magdalena Abakanowicz, Robert Arneson, Joan Brown, Roger Brown, Mel Edwards, Viola Frey, Robert Graham, Duane Hanson, Manuel Neri, Isamu Noguchi, and Peter Vanden Berge.

Life & Legacy: Leo Holub Photographs and Contemporary Artists' Prints
Through November 7
Featuring prints from the Marmor Collection paired with photographs of the artists by Leo Holub, this display includes artists such as Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, and Robert Rauschenberg.
