Honors Program

Spanish and Portuguese majors in the junior year, with a grade point average (GPA) of B+ or better in all major courses, may apply to the honors program. Honors students are eligible to participate in the honors college at the beginning of their senior year. Students should submit an application for the honors program and a proposal outline by the end of Winter Quarter of the junior year. Each honors student must write an honors essay of 20 to 25 pages under the direction of a faculty member who serves as adviser. Work on the essay normally begins in the Spring Quarter of the junior year and must be completed by the end of the third week of March of the senior year.
