Current projects

A lecturer in Spanish at Stanford since 1991, Ali Miano is Coordinator of the Spanish Language Program. She received her bachelor's degree in Spanish and linguistics from UCLA in 1982 and her master's degree in Romance linguistics from UCLA in 1990. Currently she is completing her doctorate in education at UC Berkeley, with emphases on bilingualism, biliteracy, and discourse analysis. She won the Walter J. Gores Award for excellence in teaching at Stanford in 1997.
