Esra was born in Istanbul-Turkey. She lived in Istanbul until her undergraduate studies at Cornell University where she received her BA degree in sociology and economics in May 2006. Her current areas of interest are poverty, inequality, and corruption. Apart from sociology, her other main hobby (or passion) is writing fiction in Turkish. She has published a short-story book in Turkish and she’s currently working on her second book project in her free time. She speaks Turkish, English, French, and a little bit of Cantonese. |
