Mandated Training for Faculty and Supervisors
California law AB1825 mandates that all supervisors receive a minimum of two hours of harassment prevention training at least every two years.
Under California's broad legal definition of "supervisor," all FACULTY MEMBERS qualify as supervisors, as do all STAFF MEMBERS who supervise other employees, even if they supervise student or temporary workers.
The University cannot exempt any supervisors - faculty or staff - from this legal obligation.
2013 is a training year.
If you have not completed training by December 1, 2013
you may not be able to remain in a supervisory role.
If you are a recently
hired staff supervisor or faculty member, or have recently been promoted to
a supervisory position, please contact your Human Resources Office or your Faculty Affairs Officer or Administrator, and provide the following information:
- First and last name
- Whether you are staff or faculty
- Division/School
- Department
- Job Title
- Email address
- Hire date
- SUNetID
The HR or Faculty Affairs personnel will need to contact the Sexual Harassment Policy Office at
shpo-training.stanford.edu to confirm your supervisory status and provide us with the above information.
If you require any accommodations to participate in this training, please
contact our office.
