The SCRA Board invites and welcomes participation by members in any of the following Board-sponsored committees. We have an ambitious agenda this year including facilities renovations, program improvements, greater fiscal management and enhanced communications! Please contact the chair of any committee you would like to join.

Activities Committee (Chair, Sharon Dauskardt)
The Facilities Committee is responsible for planning and supervising the maintenance, repair, and renovation of the grounds and facilities of SCRA, including the tennis courts, swimming pool, children's play structures, member locker rooms, administrative offices, and common spaces, as well as the outdoor landscaped portions of the club.

Facilities Committee (Chair, Robert Kessler)
The Facilities Committee is responsible for planning and supervising the maintenance, repair, and renovation of the grounds and facilities of SCRA, including the tennis courts, swimming pool, children's play structures, member locker rooms, administrative offices, and common spaces, as well as the outdoor landscaped portions of the club.

There are three main agenda items to be accomplished this year by the Facilities Committee: 1) to rapidly institute a regularly scheduled, high quality cleaning and maintenance service; 2) to jumpstart the renovation of the club; and 3) to draft a five-year strategic plan with timetable for the maintenance and upgrading of the facilities.

Membership Committee (Chair, Jeannie Meyer)
The Membership Committee is all about building a cohesive, connected SCRA community that ensures the quality and longevity of SCRA through fair, yet adequate, revenues from members and guests. We will spearhead three major efforts this year. The foundation of our work will be in developing an accurate and detailed membership database. From these records we will analyze our current revenue base and make future decisions on the pricing of initiation fees, monthly dues, guest fees and non-SCRA team member payments. The most fun of all, will be the communication center we create for SCRA… sending “eNews” and building a website where members can self-educate about everything from membership policies to the 4th of July BBQ!

Swim Committee (Chair, Corey Levens)
The Swim Committee will advise the SCRA board and help set club policy regarding all swim activities at SCRA. We will work closely with Bob Hill (SCRA Aquatics Director) regarding policies for lap swimmers, summer swim team, swimming safety, and pool maintenance issues related to the upcoming SCRA facility renovation. The SCRA year-round swim program has recently merged with the Palo Alto program to become PASA (Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics). Our committee will also act as liaison to PASA.

Tennis Committee (Chair, Joe Lipsick)
The Tennis Committee is looking for members to express the needs of the tennis playing community at SCRA during the renovation and beyond. This group will also advise the SCRA Board about usage rules, operation of the tennis facilities, renovation needs, and special activities revolving around the use of the tennis courts. Tennis players, or parents of players, who want to be "in the swing of things"... are encouraged to join.
