The RA/CA application process involves several steps. You should know and mark your calendars with the important dates and deadlines. Our deadlines are firm; we make no exceptions for missed deadlines. If you are a current or former RA/CA re-applying for an RA/CA position, you must follow the same steps as other applicants, but you will submit an additional essay question and use the special "Re-applicant Recommendation Form."

There are three phases of the RA/CA selection process to accommodate applicants who are away from campus (e.g., overseas) during the regular spring application process. Some instructions and many dates will vary depending on which phase you are going through. Please take note:

The RA/CA selection process is a competitive process: for the past several years there have been about 325 applicants for 168 spaces. We guarantee that applicant files will be read as long as the application file is completed by the deadline. Your application and recommendations will be read by Resident Fellows/College Directors/Row or Suites Supervisor, and by current Resident Assistants or College Assistants (RA/CAs) in the houses to which you are applying (RA/CAs who are re-applying do not read applications). You should know that not all applicants are guaranteed interviews, and of those applicants interviewed, not all will receive an RA/CA position. Care and thoughtfulness throughout the process will be important.

Questions about details and mechanics of the RA/CA selection process (including questions about the ResJobs site aspect of the process) should be addressed to:
