TranscriptsCurrent students and students who graduated after 1986 may now order electronic transcripts in pdf format.See the following documents for more information. Information about paper transcripts follows below. Resources about Electronic TranscriptsOnly official transcripts are available through the University Registrar. Each transcript has the signature of the Registrar and Stanford University seal. If multiple transcripts are requested to a single address, they are packaged together in one envelope. Envelopes are not signed or sealed (stamped) across the flap. If you require separately packaged transcripts, a signature or seal across the flap of the envelope, or forms attached to the transcripts please see the section on Special Processing below.
How do I request a transcript?Current students request a transcript via Axess, by mail, by fax (650-721-1585), or in person at the Student Services Center located at Tresidder Memorial Union, 2nd floor. We are unable to accept telephone, email, or rush requests. If you have been registered within the past five academic years, you should request transcripts through Axess.
You will need a SUNetID and password; if you do not know your SUNetID or password please contact ITS. Alumni not registered for more than five years should see the Alumni Transcript page. How much does a transcript cost and how long will it take?Transcripts from Stanford University are free. Axess requests for paper transcripts are mailed within two business days but can take 7-9 business days to arrive at the destination. If you need your transcript immediately, we suggest that you request an official electronic transcript. Can I request that my transcript be expedited?Electronic transcript requests are sent electronically every 15 minutes. Students are encouraged to select the Electronic Delivery Option in Axess for expedited delivery. Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate rush orders of the paper transcript. However, students may purchase Federal Express materials and a prepaid envelope and drop these materials off at the Student Services Center, Tresidder Memorial Union, 2nd floor, and they will send out the transcript(s) in the materials provided. Students are encouraged to record the tracking number for future reference. Can I pick up my official transcript? Official Transcript: Hold for Next-day Pick-up Option - now available in Axess!Students who wish to pick up their official transcript in person can now request the “Hold for Next-day Pick-up” option when requesting transcripts through Axess. The transcript will be available for pick up the next business day at the Student Services Center located at Tresidder Memorial Union, 2nd floor. Will my transcript indicate G.P.A or class standing?The GPA is not printed on the official transcript and is not released outside the University. The GPA can be viewed on the unofficial transcript in Axess. Stanford does not calculate class standing. I was at Stanford as a non-registered Student: can I receive a transcript?If you attended a departmental seminar, certificate program, or conference, contact the department for any records requests. When you order your transcripts through Axess, select Hold for Special Processing, and write down the request number. For special packaging requests, put your instructions, including the transcript request number, in a Student Services Center Help Ticket. Mail, fax, or deliver any applicable forms along with your request number to the Student Services Center located at Tresidder Memorial Union, 2nd floor. Student Services Center Fax: (650) 721-1585 I have a hold on my record: can I receive my transcript?Requests from current or former students with unmet obligations to the University (e.g., holds) cannot be honored. To resolve financial holds, contact Student Financial Services. To resolve Academic Standing holds, contact Undergraduate Advising and Research. I am a parent and need to request a transcript: can I do this?Parents may request transcripts for their student only if the student is under age 18. When a student turns 18, access to his or her educational records becomes legally exclusive to the student. |
