The cables required to connect a PC to the network vary from computer to computer. Some may have an Ethernet adapter built in, others may require a PC (PCMCIA) card.
To establish an Ethernet connection, you will need a 10 Base-T Ethernet patch cable.
| 1. Follow the instructions for setting up the connection between your PC and the SmartPanel. | |
| 2. Plug one end of the 10 Base-T Ethernet patch cable (RJ-45 male to RJ-45 male, cat 5 UTP) into the jack, and the other into your PC's network card (your PC may also require an interface cable). | |
| If the SmartPanel in the classroom you're using does not have an Ethernet jack, look around the room itself for a TSO (Terminal Service Outlet), usually the orange jack furthest left in a panel usually located near the SmartPanel. | |
| 3. Set up your PC's IP configuration for the classroom you're using. |
