Billing
  1. Students are billed for summer housing on the Summer Quarter University bill. You can view your balance due on Axess, or contact Student Financial Services at (650) 723-7772 or (866) 993-7772 (toll free) for questions regarding payment and due dates. (Students must pay all fees in full before assuming occupancy of their room.)
  2. Students in Students with Children Housing may register to pay their rent on a monthly basis. For more information, please contact the Escondido Village office.

Contracts and Room Rates
Your room/apartment rate depends on the length of your summer contract:

  • You can choose either an 8- or 10-week housing contract for the summer, and contracts usually begin on a fixed date in June.
  • Exceptions:
    1. If you receive a housing assignment after the contract start-date, your contract will begin when the assignment is made.
    2. If you are enrolled in courses outside of the standard contract date, you may be able to extend your summer contract by filing a request—after you have been assigned to a residence—with the appropriate Housing Front Desk. Extensions, however, are rare and, if granted, charged a slightly higher per diem rate.

Staying Before or After Contract Dates

  • Graduate students may be eligible to stay in Conference Housing before or after the contract period. See the Stanford Conference Services web site, or call (650) 725-1429.
  • Note that individual housing offered by Stanford Conference Services is available from June 21 to August 20, 2009.
  • The Stanford Guest House is available for all Stanford students and also accommodates visitors for both short- and long-term stays.

Students receiving Walk-in/Continuous Assignments

  • If you are assigned through the Walk-in/Continuous Assignments meetings, you will be given a start date at the time the assignment is made based on availability.
  • Your current spring contracts will not be adjusted, and you will not be offered continuous on-campus housing from the end of spring through summer.

Contract End Dates
Students need to view Application Process to determine which contract length they are eligible to select.

  • The 8-week summer contract ends on August 16, 2009.
  • The 10-week summer contract ends on September 2, 2009.
  • Students with special contract lengths will end their contract at the conclusion of their summer class.

Summer and Autumn contracts adjusted for Continuous Housing
To provide continuous on-campus housing for Summer 2009 and Autumn Quarter 2009-10, students in the following housing categories will have their contract dates adjusted regardless of their summer contract length selection:

  • Single Graduate Students
  • Couples without Children and
  • Students with Children Housing

Billing is automatic, and summer contracts end on September 1, 2009.

NOTE: Your contract will be adjusted even if the summer and autumn housing is in different categories of housing and/or different residences.
