| Summer Housing is available to: |
- Incoming Graduate Students,
- Continuing Stanford Graduate and Undergraduate Students, and
- Visiting Students who are enrolled for the summer term.

| Incoming Graduate Students |
New graduate students starting a degree program in summer or autumn terms may apply for Summer Housing. (Be sure to submit a separate autumn application if you would like to remain in residence for the upcoming academic year.) |
| Continuing Stanford Students |
The following further describes Stanford Graduate and Undergraduate Students who are eligible:
- Matriculated or active Non-matriculated students in good financial standing with the University
- Undergraduates without summer contracts
- Graduate students without a summer housing contract, including Spring residents of Studio buildings 1 and 2, Rains bldgs 201, 202, and 206, Munger, the co-ops and Schwab
- Graduate students with a summer housing contract who need to move to a different category of housing due to a change in marital or family status

| Visiting Students |
The following describes Visiting Students who are eligible:
- Graduate students enrolled in the Summer Visitor Program and/or the English for Foreign Students (EFS) program
- Undergraduate students registered for at least three units in the Summer Visitor or EFS program.

| Matriculation Status |
- Matriculated: A graduate or undergraduate student admitted to a Stanford degree program.
- Non-matriculated: A graduate or undergraduate student who is not pursuing a Stanford degree is eligible for Summer Housing as long as they are enrolled full-time.
|
| Couples Without Children |
Summer Housing is available to both graduate and undergraduate students who are married and to students who have same-sex or opposite-sex domestic partners who will be occupying the apartment with them at least 50% of each week. At Stanford, a domestic partnership is defined as an established, long-term partnership between two people with an exclusive mutual commitment in which the partners share the necessities of life and ongoing responsibility for their common welfare. |
| Students With Children |
Summer Housing is available for graduate and undergraduate students who have legally dependent children living with them at least 50% of each week and who are married, in a domestic partnership, or are single parents. Students with shared custody of their child(ren) are eligible for Students with Children Housing if the child(ren) will physically occupy the apartment at least 50% of each week. If you are expecting a child, you are eligible to apply for Students with Children Housing for the quarter that corresponds to the second trimester of pregnancy. |
| Coterminal Students |
Coterminal students are eligible to apply to either:
- Undergraduate Housing – when you have a year or more of guaranteed Undergraduate Housing remaining, or
- Graduate Housing – when you do not have an undergraduate guarantee year remaining and are not eligible for Undergraduate Housing
