Couples without Children
All students who applied for Couple without Children Housing by the deadline were given a random number from 0001 to 1000. (Current students living in Couple without Children Housing who renewed their housing contracts were not given application numbers.)

  • All 163 new students and 45 continuing students with assignment priority years  remaining who requested assignment to Couple without Children Housing and were willing to live anywhere (meaning either furnished or unfurnished options of the on-campus apartments for which they were eligible) were assigned.
  • There were 487 couples without children who applied for housing.
  • The overall cut-off number was 0819 for students with assignment priority years  remaining.
  • There were 241 couples without children who renewed.

Students with Children
All students with children who applied for housing by the deadline were assigned a random application number from 0001 to 0500. (Current students living in Student with Children Housing who renewed their housing contracts were not given application numbers.)

  • All 45 new and 213 continuing students with children who applied for housing were assigned.
  • There were 153 students with children who renewed their housing.
  • There were 258 students with children who applied for housing.

The overall cutoff number was 500 for continuing students.

Single Students
All single students who applied for graduate housing by the deadline were assigned a random application number from 0001 to 3500. (Current students living in Single Graduate Student Housing who renewed their housing contracts were not given application numbers.) Students who requested to be in a group were given a common number.

  • All new students were considered for assignment -- and all those who were willing to live anywhere were assigned.
  • 1541 continuing students with assignment priority years remaining renewed their current housing contract for 2009-10.
  • The overall cutoff number for the last male, continuing student assigned was 1621, with limited assignment priority.
  • The overall cutoff number for the last female, continuing student assigned was 1903, with limited assignment priority.
  • Some continuing students with higher lottery numbers were assigned if they specifically listed the higher priced options that were not filled with applicants who specified: “I will take any option on campus.”
