| 2009-10 Housing Lottery Results |
Results of the Lottery for housing assignments for Summer 2009 and the 2009-10 contract period are available in Axess. |
Autumn Quarter Housing |
Student Housing is very pleased to announce that for the first time in many years, almost all of the demand for graduate housing has been met, and we anticipate that many, if not all of the students who have applied for housing will be offered apartment spaces by the beginning of the Autumn Quarter.
4867 students applied or re-applied for housing for 2009-10, the vast majority of whom have been offered housing. Students who have not yet been offered a housing assignment for Autumn Quarter are encouraged to join the Autumn Waiting list in Axess by July 5th, 2009. Many additional spaces become available over the summer as students change their enrollment and housing plans. Students who received an assignment, but wish to be reassigned, should not cancel their current assignment, but can request to be reassigned via the Autumn Waitlist. |
| Summer Housing |
All graduate students who applied for summer housing have been assigned, with the exception of 7 students with restricted choices. Results of the summer lottery are available online. Students desiring summer housing, but who have not yet applied or have not yet been assigned are encouraged to join the Summer Waiting list. The deadline for Summer applications is May 31, 2009 and there are still spaces available. |
| Next Steps |
Residents who have received housing assignments do not need to accept them in Axess. By signing the Residence Agreement, you have already accepted your housing assignment. Your assignment is for a complex and type of housing (for example, two-bedroom, triple occupancy apartment in Escondido Village). Your specific apartment assignment will be provided to you when you check in. Please see Once You’re Assigned for critical information regarding your assignment.
Statistics on the outcome of this year’s Lottery are available online. |

| New Two-Bedroom Efficiency Apartments |
The apartments in Blackwelder and part of Quillen are being renovated into two-bedroom efficiency apartments to create a more private living situation for single students. The apartments will have two separate, locking bedrooms, with a shared kitchen/eating area, pantry and bathroom.
Current occupants will have priority to renew into this new type of apartment and will also receive assignment priority to the traditional one-bedroom, double occupancy apartments in other buildings, if preferred. |
| New Residence Choices for Couples Without Children |
| The Munger Graduate Residences offer a new housing option for couples without children in the form of one-bedroom apartments. Two student couples may also apply for a limited number of two-bedroom apartments in Escondido Village. Both students need to be enrolled for the duration of the contract. |
