Convenient and Affordable Housing is Available June 20 - August 21, 2009
Stanford Conferences offers studio apartments, 1-bedroom apartments, 2-bedroom apartments, and shared 2- and 4-bedroom apartments on a space available basis for eligible 2009 summer campus visitors (age 18 and over) who are attending a conference or workshop, studying or conducting research with Stanford faculty, or coming to Stanford for some other academic purpose.
Housing is available in graduate residences located in close proximity to the center of campus. In most cases, linens and housekeeping services are not included. Although basic furnishings are provided, kitchen utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and televisions are not included. Utilities and use of laundry facilities are included in the nightly fees.
Depending on the housing location, summer guests can enjoy such amenities as optional Internet service, phone line activation, common lounge areas, swimming pools, and fitness centers (some services and amenities are available on a fee basis).
Application Information:
To apply for Stanford non-student summer housing, please locate the section below that most closely matches your reason for being on campus. There is a link to a page with detailed information on your housing options, including rates. On the application you have the opportunity to rent linen and purchase parking permits.
When applying for housing, please be prepared to use your MasterCard or Visa credit card, as you will need to pay a $25 application fee and a $100 holding deposit as part of the application process. The $25 application fee is non-refundable unless we are unable to offer you your requested accommodation. The $100 holding deposit will be returned if we are unable to offer you an accommodation, or if you cancel a reservation seven days or more in advance of your scheduled check-in. The $100 holding deposit will be forfeited if you cancel a reservation six days or less before your scheduled check-in date. If you are offered an accommodation and arrive as scheduled, the $100 holding deposit will be applied towards the total cost of your stay. Any cancellations must be done by sending an email to summerhousing@stanford.edu. Cancellation date will be recorded as the date that the e-mail was sent.

Stanford Graduate Students Needing Short-Term Housing Before Autumn Quarter Begins:
Housing in Wilbur Hall is available at the end of Summer Quarter for graduate students needing to arrive on campus before their on-campus room is available for move-in, or as a place to stay while looking for off-campus housing through our Community Housing office. Parking Permits:
Parking permits are required for campus parking, and can be purchased through the application or from the Front Desk once you arrive on campus. Daily Conference Parking Scratchers are $4.50 and Monthly Conference Parking Permits are $23.50.
Telephone Service:
Residential telephone service includes an individual direct-dial telephone number, and unlimited local, domestic long distance, and incoming calls. Calling card, major credit card, or calling collect is required for placing International long distance calls. Please note the following: only one line and phone number are available per room; voicemail is not available; guests have option of supplying their own phone answering machines. Library Access:
Guests are eligible for on-site access to most University library collections by presenting a valid Conference ID Card, issued upon check-in. Please note that your Conference ID Card does not confer borrowing privileges. Campus Transportation:
The Marguerite is a free campus shuttle service (no ID required) operating Mon - Fri, 6 am - 8:30 pm, except holidays. Service is offered to the campus, neighboring communities, the Stanford Shopping Center, Caltrain and most public bus lines. Marguerite maps and schedules are available at your Conference Front Desk and at Parking & Transportation Services (P&TS), 340 Bonair Siding. Contact P&TS for transportation and commute assistance. 2009 Campus Retail Dining Options:
Stanford Dining and Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries offer award-winning regional and international cuisines at various retail eateries throughout the campus. Guests have the option of purchasing "Cardinal Dollars" prepaid meal cards from their Conference Front Desks. Cardinal Dollars meal cards can be purchased in any amount. Each card valued at $100 or more will receive 10 bonus Cardinal Dollars.
