Obtain Sponsorship From a Stanford Department.
All conferences must be sponsored by a school or department of
the University. Outside organizations must obtain the sponsorship
of an appropriate University dean, faculty member, or department
head before requesting to schedule a conference. This sponsorship
must be renewed annually for returning conferences.
Academic departments frequently sponsor outside organizations,
as long as the purpose of the conference is related to Stanford's
mission of teaching, research, and public service. Training workshops
and meetings of professional societies are typical conferences
held at Stanford. If you have questions about how to obtain sponsorship,
contact Sue Nunan.
Detailed information regarding the sponsorship requirement is
located on the Stanford
Events web site. A Sponsorship
Form must be signed by the department head or faculty member
and returned to Conference Services.
Complete a Reservation
Form. In addition to a Sponsorship Form, a Reservation Form
(or, if applicable, a Reservation Form for Programs With Multiple
Sessions) is needed to begin planning your conference.
Visit the Campus.
Plan a visit to Stanford to view our housing and academic facilities.
Conference Services will assist you in your tour arrangements.
Schedule a Planning
Meeting. While you are on campus, our conference staff will
meet with you to go over your conference needs and will put you
in touch with other campus organizations. Prior to your meeting,
you should complete a Housing Worksheet to give us an outline
of your housing needs (if any).
