Students with Disabilities

HAS HomeResidence ToursCalendarFormsResidence AgreementApplying for Housing

Students with a documented disability or medical condition may be exempted from or accommodated within the Draw or Waiting List and assigned to housing directly, or they may participate in the Draw but require room modifications or other considerations. If you have a disability, you should complete a Disability Accommodation Request for special assignment consideration by Friday, April 18, 2008. You and members of your group (if any) must also submit applications in Axess by Wednesday, April 23.

Once you have submitted your request, you will receive a Draw number. Your assignment will be made according to your number, the residence choices you list, and the type of accommodation requested. Obtaining special priorities will enhance your chance of assignment to special priority houses through the disability accommodation process or, if an exemption is not granted, through the Draw.

Exemption request results will be sent to your Stanford e-mail account on Thursday, May 8. You can also find out your assignment in person at the Housing Assignments office, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Results will NOT appear in Axess. In cases where an exemption is not granted, you may adjust or withdraw your Draw application or join the Waiting List by the applicable deadlines. Group members of students exempted from the Draw must file a new housing application if the exempted student refuses his/her assignment.

If you receive a disability accommodation or exemption and refuse your assignment, you will be charged $50-$400 depending on the date.
