UPDATED 06/20/07
Please read the information below before beginning your
application.
Eligibility: Because the off-campus apartment program is being phased out and there are not many available spaces for 2007-08, only single, matriculated graduate students are being considered for assignment at this time. All apartments are 2- and 3-bedroom apartments, and are shared occupancy apartments. Enrolled postdoctoral scholars may apply, but their applications will only be considered if vacancies occur later inthe year. Please read our Questions
and Answers page to ensure that you meet eligibility
requirements.
Duplicate Applications: You may only submit one
application. If you submit a duplicate application, only
the first application submitted will be processed and any
subsequent applications will be ignored.
Making Changes to Your Application: We will accept changes to applications
by Tuesday of each week prior to the announcement of the
next round of assignments. See the Calendar
for specific dates. It is your responsibility to submit
changes by the appropriate deadlines. If you submit a change
after the deadline for an assignment round and you are offered
an assignment in that round, we will not change your assignment
even if your preferences have changed.
Troubleshooting: If you have any problems accessing
the web form, scroll down to the bottom of this web page
and follow the troubleshooting
steps outlined there.

If you have problems accessing
a web form, please read the instructions below.
SUNet ID: The off-campus housing forms require you
to enter your SUNet ID on the application. Your SUNet ID
is used to verify your identity and is recognized by the
University as an official signature. If you do not currently
have a SUNet ID, you can establish one by completing the
information on this
page. If you are a non-student with out a SUNet ID,
you may still fill out an application, however, we ask that
you clearly indicate on the application that you are not
eligible for a SUNet ID, but are affiliated with Stanford.
Troubleshooting Steps: Here are steps to take if
you experience difficulty accessing one of our web forms:
- Use a Netscape browser. Some versions of Internet Explorer
may not be compatible with the web authentication system
that Stanford uses.
- Make sure that your browser preferences are set to accept
"cookies." Stanford's web authentication system
uses a cookie to authenticate you. If you have set your
web browser to refuse cookies, you will not be able to
submit a web form; you should (at least temporarily) change
your browser to accept cookies before entering your SUNet
ID.
- Make sure that you are entering your SUNet ID and password,
NOT your Student ID Number and PIN. Your SUNet ID is usually
similar to your e-mail address.
- If all of the previous items are now correct, clear
the cache on your browser. Error message pages are sometimes
cached and will keep redisplaying until you clear the
cache, even if the error has now been corrected. Depending
on how your preferences are set, you may need to quit
your browser and then relaunch it in order to clear the
cache or click on the clear cache button in your preferences
menu.
- Some companies have firewalls that block the use of
outside web forms. If you are trying to access a web form
from an off-campus work site, this may be the cause of
the problem. If so, follow the instructions in #6 below.
- If you still cannot access the web form, go to the Community
Housing office at 630 Serra Street #110
and use one of the computers in our lobby to submit your
form. If you don't live in the Stanford area at this time,
contact us to fax a paper version of the web form to you.
Web Server Down: If our web server is down, please
notify us at (650) 723-3906 or at subsidizedhousing@stanford.edu.
