Community Housing Services Home Page Q&A New Residents Q&A Current Residents Rates Chart Apartment Map Forms On-Campus Housing

Please read the information below before beginning your application.

Eligibility: Because the off-campus apartment program is ending at the end of this academic year, any assignments made will be short term. Enrolled single students and visiting researchers are eligible for this housing.. All apartments are unfurnished 2- and 3-bedroom apartments, and are shared occupancy apartments. Matriculated students have priority over non-matriculated students.

Duplicate Applications: You may only submit one application. If you submit a duplicate application, only the first application submitted will be processed and any subsequent applications will be ignored.

Making Changes to Your Application: We will accept changes to applications by e-mail (send changes to subsidizedhousing@stanford.edu).

Refusals: If you apply for this housing and refuse the assignment after it is offered to you, you will be charged a $50 administrative fee on your student bill. If you accept an assignment and refuse the assignment before signing the contract, you will be charged $100 on your student bill.

Troubleshooting: If you have any problems accessing the web form, scroll down to the bottom of this web page and follow the troubleshooting steps outlined there.

Single Students

If you have problems accessing a web form, please read the instructions below.

SUNet ID: The off-campus housing forms require you to enter your SUNet ID on the application. Your SUNet ID is used to verify your identity and is recognized by the University as an official signature. If you do not currently have a SUNet ID, you can establish one by completing the information on this page. If you are a non-student with out a SUNet ID, you may still fill out an application, however, we ask that you clearly indicate on the application that you are not eligible for a SUNet ID, but are affiliated with Stanford.

Troubleshooting Steps: Here are steps to take if you experience difficulty accessing one of our web forms:

  1. Use a Netscape browser. Some versions of Internet Explorer may not be compatible with the web authentication system that Stanford uses.
  2. Make sure that your browser preferences are set to accept "cookies." Stanford's web authentication system uses a cookie to authenticate you. If you have set your web browser to refuse cookies, you will not be able to submit a web form; you should (at least temporarily) change your browser to accept cookies before entering your SUNet ID.
  3. Make sure that you are entering your SUNet ID and password, NOT your Student ID Number and PIN. Your SUNet ID is usually similar to your e-mail address.
  4. If all of the previous items are now correct, clear the cache on your browser. Error message pages are sometimes cached and will keep redisplaying until you clear the cache, even if the error has now been corrected. Depending on how your preferences are set, you may need to quit your browser and then relaunch it in order to clear the cache or click on the clear cache button in your preferences menu.
  5. Some companies have firewalls that block the use of outside web forms. If you are trying to access a web form from an off-campus work site, this may be the cause of the problem. If so, follow the instructions in #6 below.
  6. If you still cannot access the web form, go to the Community Housing office at 630 Serra Street #110 and use one of the computers in our lobby to submit your form. If you don't live in the Stanford area at this time, contact us to fax a paper version of the web form to you.

Web Server Down: If our web server is down, please notify us at (650) 723-3906 or at subsidizedhousing@stanford.edu.
