Storage Services Offered

Student Housing is pleased to announce that we have arranged with a professional storage service, Collegeboxes.com, to provide year-round storage of student's items, as well as summer-only storage. Collegeboxes.com, owned by U-Haul International, Inc., will store student's belongings, including odd-sized items as well as boxed items, in their nearby, secure, climate-controlled facility, and will transport them to and from campus as part of the service fee. Collegeboxes also offers "At Your Door" pickup and delivery, boxes and packing supplies, and shipping to and from school.

Additionally, U-Box Storage offers the rental of portable storage containers at a special Stanford rate. For additional information, or to contract for any of these services, please follow the links below.

Please note: The University assumes no responsibility for loss of, or damage to, items in storage. Additionally, contracts with our preferred vendors, Collegeboxes.com and U-Box, are entered into by the student and the respective company. The University is not a party to these contracts.

Students who opt to use a non-preferred storage vendor will have restricted options on where the containers may be located, and might find that they are not able to have units placed in the locations most convenient to their residence, which have been reserved for use by the preferred vendor.

Student Storage Options

Stanford Self-Storage Service with Collegeboxes
Collegeboxes offers a self-storage option to Stanford students

Here's how "Stanford Self-Storage" service works:

1. Sign up online and select the drop-off location and date most convenient for you.
   • Go to Collegeboxes.com, then click on "Summer Storage and Shipping." Select Stanford University "Self Storage" Service - Stanford, CA;.
2. Boxes and supply purchase options:
   • Option 1: Purchase starter kit online during sign up process. The starter kit will be shipped to you via FedEx or UPS. Kit includes 5 boxes, tape, marker, 10 label pouches with 5 zip ties.
   • Option 2: Purchase U-Haul boxes and supplies* at drop-off locations on the dates shown below when Collegeboxes will be on campus.
3. Log into your Collegeboxes.com account to create and print storage and shipping labels.
   • For items you want stored over the Summer: Create, print, and affix storage labels to your boxes, bike, and/or odd-shaped items.
   • For boxes you want shipped home: Create, print, and affix shipping labels to your boxes (only boxes can be shipped) These boxes will be transported to the U-Haul Center and then shipped via UPS after being dropped off on campus.
4. On your drop-off date, bring your labeled items to the drop-off location you have selected.
5. Collegeboxes scans and stores items labeled for storage and ships boxes labeled for shipping.
6. When you return in the Fall, your stored items will be available for pickup at the same location you dropped-off in the Spring. See the attached link for more information about this shipping option.

  Early or late drop-offs: If the drop-off dates above do not work with your schedule, email customer_care@collegeboxes.com to schedule an early/late drop-off

"At Your Door" Storage Service with Collegeboxes.com
Collegeboxes offers a full service storage option to Stanford students

1. Sign up for At Your Door service online and select the pick-up date
   and time most convenient for you.
   • Go to Collegeboxes.com, click on "Collegeboxes Shipping & Storage."

     be shipped to you via FedEx or UPS. Kit includes 5 boxes, tape, marker, 10 label pouches, and 5 zip ties.
   • Additional U-Haul boxes and supplies will be available for purchase at locations and dates shown below when Collegeboxes will be on campus.

Ship To School Service with Collegeboxes.com
Collegeboxes offers a full service "Ship To School" option to Stanford students.

Here's how "Ship To School" service works:

1. Sign up online, purchase starter kit, enter pickup date and address, and select final delivery date and dorm.
   • Go to Collegeboxes.com, then click on "Ship To School".
2. We ship you our starter kit
   (includes 5 boxes, tape, label pouches, and a marker)
3. Pack your boxes and affix barcode labels you create using your Collegeboxes.com account
4. Schedule a UPS/FedEx pickup for your boxes from Collegeboxes.com account
5. Collegeboxes receives and holds your boxes at our secure climate-controlled storage facility
6. Collegeboxes delivers your boxes directly to your room, on the date and time selected

Collegeboxes.com's Ship To School service increases the ease and efficiency of moving into residences and shipping packages. This service provides a cost-effective, convenient, and reliable way to transport your personal belongings and packages,having them delivered directly to your room or apartment at a specific time. Please note that this is a separate process and service from standard package shipping and delivery (outlined above). See the attached link for more information about this shipping option.

Personal Storage Containers from U-Box

U-Box will provide storage containers (5’x8’x7.5’), which may be used by individuals or shared. Students contracting for the use of these containers will fill and lock them. The U-Boxes will be stored off campus and returned in the fall. If your plans change over the summer we'll be happy to ship your U-Box Anywhere.

For summer storage, containers will be dropped off between May 30, 2011 and June 15, 2011. All U-Boxes will be picked no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 15.

Summer Storage Rates are as follows:

• $99 Delivery to Stanford University (includes U-Box return to campus in the fall)

• $81.95 per month

• Free lock included with transaction

The U-Boxes will be redelivered to campus starting September 2, 2011. All U-Boxes will be removed from campus no later than September 30, 2011.
