Four types of housekeeping service options are available in the campus residences. These options are itemized below. It is our hope that this information will prove helpful in preparing your participants and staff for their stay on campus.
NO LINEN SERVICE (YOUTH BUILDINGS ONLY)
With “No Linen Service,” linens are not provided. Participants should bring sleeping bags or sheets and blankets, towels, pillows, and toiletries. Participants may also wish to bring a reading lamp (halogen bulbs are not permitted) and a fan. Common areas such as bathrooms, lounges, and hallways will be cleaned Monday - Friday, or on an as-needed basis. Weekend service is not provided.
WEEKLY SERVICE (YOUTH and ADULT BUILDINGS)
With “Weekly Service,” beds are made up upon arrival. For programs that are 7 nights or more, linens (sheets, pillowcases, and towels) are changed after the third day of occupancy and trash cans are emptied, unless other arrangements have been made with the Housing Building Manager or your Conference Account Manager/Coordinator. Supplied linens include: bedspread, sheets, blanket, pillow and pillowcase, two towels, and one washcloth. A small bar of soap, soap dish, and paper cups are also provided. Common areas such as bathrooms, lounges, and hallways will be cleaned Monday - Friday.
FULL SERVICE (ESCONDIDO VILLAGE STUDIOS ONLY)
With “Full Service,” beds are made up upon arrival, and apartments are cleaned Monday - Saturday (except on holidays). Supplied linens include: bedspread, sheets, blanket, pillow and pillowcase, two towels, two washcloths, and a bathmat. Room amenities also include soap and paper cups that, in support of our sustainability efforts, will be replenished as needed. The housekeeping staff makes up the beds, empties the trash, dusts, and vacuums the apartments every Monday - Saturday. For groups staying more than one week, bed linens (sheets and pillowcases) are changed every seven days. Towels are changed Monday - Saturday. On Saturday and the day before any holiday, an extra set of towels is left in the apartment. A reading lamp, alarm clock, fan (except in the Munger Graduate Residence), and phone (with complimentary local service) are also provided in each apartment.
EXECUTIVE SERVICE (MUNGER GRADUATE RESIDENCE ONLY)
The Munger Graduate Residence provides executive accommodations for adult conferences. Each studio apartment, or each single-occupancy bedroom situated within a one-bedroom or multi-bedroom apartment includes a private full bathroom, full-sized bed, and full kitchen. The Munger Graduate Residence is the only air-conditioned residence on campus.
Executive Service at the Munger Graduate Residence includes seven day housekeeping service (including holidays) and upgraded linens. Each room (prepared prior to guests’ arrivals) will include upgraded bedspreads, sheets, blankets, pillows and pillowcases, full sets of towels and bathmats, and linen service provided daily. Room amenities also include soap and cups that will be replenished as needed. The housekeeping staff will make up the beds, empty the trash, dust, and vacuum the apartments on a daily basis. Other executive program amenities include: iron and ironing boards, alarm clock, hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, paper towels and dispenser, luggage rack, and wooden hangers.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE RESIDENCES
With the exception of the Munger Graduate Residence, campus residences are not air-conditioned. In view of this, conference participants/staff may want to bring their own small fans.
It is suggested that participants bring bathrobes and slippers. With the exception of the Escondido Village Studio Apartments and the Munger Graduate Residence, bathrooms are shared and located down the hall from the sleeping rooms.
Pets are not allowed in any campus residence (except service animals).
Smoking is not permitted in any campus residence.
Screens may not be available on all windows.
For those residences with kitchens, Housekeeping’s cleaning of the kitchens does not include washing dishes. Cleaning dishes is considered the responsibility of the participant.
Please refer to the Conference Planning Manual’s “Housing Policies and Services” document for further information about the residences.
