Masters in Public Policy: Boot Camp

Goals: To familiarize students with mathematical tools necessary for basic economic and statistical analysis, including the relevant introductory material from economics and statistics.  The course will reach a level corresponding to Econ 50, Math 41 & Stats 60/Econ 102A.
    Instructor:   Brett Green
    Graduate School of Business

Schedule: The 2008 boot camp starts on Monday, September 8th and will run for 10 days, ending on Friday, September 19th.  It will be held in Encina Hall West, Room 101, from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Currently, the plan is to introduce material for about 4 hours a day and then have group problem-solving sessions in the afternoons.

Participation: Attendance is not mandatory, although familiarity with the material is mandatory before enrolling in the program.  There are no grades or reports to the faculty about your performance.  Thus the only incentive is for you to be ready for the math, econ & statistics material necessary for the core MPP classes. This will also be a great way to meet classmates and start forming study groups.
