    Programs: Masters in Public Policy

Stanford University offers two masters programs in public policy. The Master in Public Policy (MPP) is a two-year professional degree. The Master of Arts in Public Policy (MAPP) is a one-year non-professional degree. At this time, only currently-enrolled students in other Stanford graduate programs or applicants to those programs may apply for either of the public policy masters programs. Students enrolled in or applying to certain schools or departments (Law, Business, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, and Education) are eligible to apply for joint degrees in those fields and in Public Policy. All other Stanford graduate students are eligible to apply for a dual degree - either the MPP or the MAPP - in addition to the degree program in which they are first enrolled.

All Public Policy masters programs require at least one year of study at Stanford beyond the requirements for the other joint or dual degree.
