Alexander Fetter chosen as new Director of Hansen Experimental
Physics Laboratory
Professor Alexander
Fetter has agreed to serve as Director of the Hansen Experimental
Physics Laboratory for a one-year term, from September 1, 1996
through August 31, 1997. Professor Fetter was selected to help
"chart the course" for HEPL's future and will take on the task
of constructing a coherent picture of the future for HEPL over
the next 5-10 years. Mason
Yearian, who was director of HEPL for 23 years, served during
a time when the laboratory made a critical transition from a
single purpose accelerator laboratory to a multi-disciplinary
laboratory that supports several medium-scale physics experiments.
