Nike would like to provide Stanford Intramural Sports participants the opportunity to join their volunteer footwear testing program!

Each year Nike brings to market the most innovative sport performance footwear in the industry. They test footwear on athletes who have volunteered to run, play, train, and workout in Nike shoes. These select athletes help to ensure that Nike footwear will continue to exceed the expectations of athletes around the globe.

FAQs

Who Can Be a Tester?
To be a competent tester, one must be committed to spending time and effort evaluating Nike products. The input and feedback from our Product Testers are vital to the development of Nike footwear. We need responsible individuals who are willing and able to put significant hours on the shoes, and to report thoughtful and detailed feedback, both positive and negative. Remember we expect and want criticism!

The biggest determining factor in being accepted into the program is shoe size. We are limited in the sizes we test, and that is more than not the determining factor.

What is Involved in Being a Tester?
Wear Testing:  A tester will receive a pair of shoes to test for 4-8 weeks depending on the test.  Along with the shoes, detailed instructions with reporting dates and focus areas will be provided for each test.  The tester must log in several times per week to Nike’s product tester website and update a wear log indicating number of hours worn, surfaces shoes are worn on, activities and any observations regarding fit, performance or durability.  In addition the tester must fill out an online questionnaire about the test shoes at least once during the test.  At test completion, test shoes must be mailed back to Nike to be received by the final deadline.  All postage is pre-paid.

What Do I get for Being a Tester?
All product testing is done on a volunteer basis. All product testers get to use the shoes for the duration of the test period. You get to beat up our shoes instead of your own so you don’t have to buy your own shoes as often! You will be a part of Nike’s product lifecycle. Product Testers’ feedback drives and improves Nike’s product.
