Community Day set to return April 15 with new attractions

Plans to build new homes for Stanford Daily, police move ahead
The Board of Trustees last week approved the site and concept for a new $3.75 million Stanford Daily building. It will be a two-story, beige stucco building with a clay-tile hipped mansard roof designed to complement the architectural style of nearby buildings on Panama Mall. Full Story


New financial-aid program aims to help students from middle-income families
In response to a survey of parents of current students showing that middle-income families are struggling to pay the cost of a Stanford education, the university has committed an additional $5 million in financial aid for the 2007-08 academic year to help ease their financial burden. Full Story


Alumni couple Yang and Yamazaki pledge $75 million to the university
University trustee Jerry Yang, co-founder of Yahoo! Inc., and his wife, Akiko Yamazaki, have pledged $75 million to enhance multidisciplinary programs at Stanford. Full Story
