Angeline Covey is a senior university counsel
specializing in all areas of employment law. Prior to joining the
General Counsel's Office, she was a partner in the Labor and Employment
Group and served as Associate General Counsel at Gordon and Rees LLP in
San Francisco. During that time, she focused her practice on advising
employers on a variety of workplace issues and defended employers in
both state and federal court, and before administrative agencies.
Ms. Covey has continued her advice and
counseling practice with her Stanford clients and devotes a great deal
of her time training on a variety of employment-related issues including
wage and hour, investigations, family and medical leaves,
accommodations, and unlawful discrimination and harassment.
Ms. Covey is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley
and received her J.D. from Hastings College of the Law. She is also a
member of the California State Bar as well as Labor Law Sections of the
American Bar Association, the Employment Law Section of the State Bar of
California, and the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Bar
Association of San Francisco. She is actively involved in the National
Association for College and University Attorneys (NACUA).
