Do's
- Enroll with as many mailing lists at Stanford as possible, especially the one of your country
- Make friends out of the group
- Explore the campus and the city (San Francisco)
- Contact Bechtel (Chula) for $10 rent of household stuffs
- Volunteer work on campus or in the city
- Bike around campus... its beautiful
- Attend amazing talks around campus
- Eat out on University Avenue (people actually visit the street to get good food)
- Watch movies at Stanford Movie theater on University Avenue, its a cheap and amazing experience
- Try new things - rock climbing, horse-riding, kayaking, painting, acting - anything!
- Try new kinds of food
- Get to know your fellow FLT
- Try to roam around Palo Alto, it is such an amazing place!
Dont's
- Take auditors in your the class
- Take everything personally
- Eat pizza at "Pizza my Heart"
- Postpone any requests fom IIE
- Save your money (it is one of the requirements to explore and you need money for that)
- Buy phone card at the Stanford Bookstore - instead get them from Mac's in Palo Alto
- Expect people to tell you about opportunities - seek them out yourself
- Spend all your time pining after your old life - live it up!
- Be afraid to make mistakes - you will learn from them!
- Be afraid to ask questions if you do not get it!
