About the Learning Home page

The Learning Home page is your "homepage" in STARS. It provides you with a snapshot of your current and planned learning. The main sections of the Learning Home include:
  1. Search Learning Catalog
The Learning Catalog is the central repository of information about learning activities (i.e., classes) and programs available to learners. The catalog supplies detailed information about each activity, including a description of its content, prerequisites, and other features. Using the search field enables you to search the catalog and find learning of interest.

  2. Current Activities
Current activites provides you with a list of learning (i.e., classes) in which you are currently enrolled. In the example above, an activity entitled, "Email and Organizational Communication" is listed as a current activity. Additional information regarding type of activity, status and start date is provided, as well as the ability to "drop" the activity.

  3. Planned Activities
Planned activities is a list of learning that you are considering for future enrollment. You can think of Planned Activities as "bookmarks" for learning in which you may choose to enroll in the future. In the example above, a planned activity entitled, "Continuous Workplace Improvement" is displayed. Additional activity information such as type of activity, who added it to the "Planned Activities" section and date added is also provided.

  4. Current Programs
Programs consist of one or more catalog items, leading to a certification or completion of a block of learning. Not all users of STARS will use Programs.
