The upgraded version of Kronos, set to be implemented on August 1, 2005 requires Java software to run.
Java version 1.4.2_06 is required for all Kronos users (it is a software language); you may already have Java on your computer. If you do not have the required version, the first time you login to Kronos via the Axess portal on August 1, (http://axess.stanford.edu), the required version of Java may automatically download (see Exceptions for more detail on situations where it does NOT automatically download).
If you wish to download Java prior to August 1 to ensure you have access to the new version of Kronos, please follow the instructions below.
If you need help, please contact your local desktop support, or submit a HelpSU request: http://helpsu.stanford.edu to Administrative Applications>Kronos.
For other desktop readiness preparation, please see the Kronos v5 Browser/OS Compatibility Matrix.
Note: Mac OS X lower than 10.3.7 does not come with the right version of Java, so your operating system should be updated to 10.3.7 or 10.3.9; you will not need to separately download Java if you update your operating system.
