Norton AntiVirus 9.0.2

Description

Norton AntiVirus (NAV) is Stanford's site-licensed anti-virus software. One of the most important features of Norton AntiVirus is LiveUpdate, which enables the program to automatically retrieve new virus definitions. This ensures LiveUpdate to update the virus definitions files on a regular basis.

The majority of the virus and worm attacks do not effect Macintosh users. However, some users may unwittingly promote virus attacks if they use Microsoft Outlook or other MS products. Norton AntiVirus provides protection against these attacks. The installation instructions will show you how to check for new virus definitions as they become available. Once set, you should not have to adjust the program again.

System Requirements

  • Supported Operating System: OS 10.1.5 or later on a PowerPC G3 or higher
  • Minimum RAM: 128
  • Available Hard Disk Space: 40 MB
  • A connection to the Internet to run LiveUpdate

Notes

  • If you get a message saying that your Norton AntiVirus subscription has or is about to expire, download the latest version of Norton AntiVirus from ESS. You may already have NAV 9.x installed on your computer, but the ESS version of NAV 9.x is the Corporate Edition and it disables the NAV subscription from expiring.

  • After downloading Norton AntiVirus, double-click the Install for OS X icon and follow the instructions.

  • You do not need to uninstall your current version of Norton AntiVirus before installing NAV 9.0.2. However, if you have trouble installing NAV 9.0.2, run the Uninstall program that is bundled with the Norton AntiVirus installer. Then try installing NAV 9.0.2 again.

  • Check the Read Me and Documentation files included for complete details.
