Ring Again

With Ring Again, you can instruct the phone system to notify you when the person you called is no longer busy with another call (used when encountering a busy signal after dialing a Stanford phone).

Activate Ring Again After Receiving a Busy Signal

  • Press the Ring Again Feature key.
    The arrow indicator next to the Ring Again key is solid and the arrow indicator next to your Line goes out. Wait for distinctive ringing and the arrow indicator next to the Ring Again key to flash, indicating that neither you nor the other party are using your phones.

Respond After Hearing Distinctive Ringing

(Lift your handset.)

  • Press the Ring Again Feature key.
    The phone number is automatically redialed and the arrow indicator next to the Ring Again key goes out. If you do not press the Ring Again key within 18 seconds, the Ring Again request is automatically cancelled.

Cancel Before Hearing Distinctive Ringing

  • Press the Ring Again Feature key.
    The arrow indicator next to the Ring Again key goes out and the Ring Again request is cancelled.
