Change Your Password

When your phone is installed, the default login password is set to 1234. After the first time you log in, you should change your password to something other than the default. Your password can be up to 15 digits long.

Changing Your Password

  1. On the display, press the Menu soft key.

  2. Press the Down navigation key to scroll down the list and highlight User (item #7 on on IP Phone 1140E, IP Phone 2004, and IP Phone 2002).

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press the Down key to scroll down the list and highlight Password (item #7 on on IP Phone 1140E, IP Phone 2004, and IP Phone 2002).

  5. Press OK.

  6. When prompted for your Old Password, enter the password you are currently using and then press OK. (The default is 1234.)

  7. At the New Password prompt, enter your new password and press OK.

  8. At the Verify Password prompt, enter your new password again and press OK.

  9. Your password is changed. Press OK.

  10. Press the Quit key to close the menu.

  • See the log in instructions for information about logging in to your phone.

  • Call the Stanford IT Help Desk at 5-HELP (5-4357) if you forget your password and need to have it reset.
