New Trash Retention Policy on Stanford Email

IT Services implemented a new Email trash retention policy on Thursday 10/22. Email messages placed in the Trash folder are automatically deleted after 30 days. It doesn't matter what the date on the original message is; trashed items remain in the folder for 30 days before being automatically purged.

You can remove mail messages from your trash folder sooner the same way you do now — right-click (or Ctrl+click on the Mac) on the Trash folder and select Empty Trash. Items that have been deleted from the trash are no longer counted against your email quota.

If you have any questions/concerns, please submit a HelpSU ticket.
