What We Do
The UNIX Systems and Applications team provides critical systems infrastructure services including, but not limited to the following areas:

- Centralized E-Mail service (http://www.stanford.edu/services/email)
- Directory service (http://www.stanford.edu/services/directory)
- Centralized calendar service (http://calendar.stanford.edu)
- Stanford search service (http://www.stanford.edu/services/websearch/Google)
- Web service (http://www.stanford.edu/services/web)
UNIX Systems and Applications also supports computing needs for IT Services internal groups and projects, and other external customers. Our clients include GSB, the Dean of Research, H&S, Residential Dining Enterprise, etc. We provide the following services (varied depending on the service agreement):
- Recommendation for hardware configurations and helping with project planning to ensure the systems meet production acceptance criteria
- System software and hardware installation and upgrade
- System security monitoring and patch upgrade
- System usage and performance monitoring
We work together to achieve the greatest operational excellence and efficiency in order to deliver secure, robust, and reliable services for our clients.
