Help Desk Services
What We Do
Help Desk Services provides desktop, networking, and general computing support to the Stanford community. These services are supplied by:
- the Computing and General Information group, who provide general information and the first tier of assistance to clients on a wide range of technology-related issues;
- the Stanford IT Service Desk, which provides assistance with ordering IT Services, including telecommunications services such as telephones and data lines, as well as orders for Data Center services such as data backups, new servers, new databases, etc.
- the Technical Analyst Group, who deliver second tier support on desktop- and networking-related issues.
- the Support Tools and Metrics group, which provides technical support to the staff of Client Support and IT Services in the form of tools, metrics, and the management of vendor programs.
