Application Support & Database Administration
What We Do
The Application Support team is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the applications we provide to our customers, and those used exclusively by IT Services. These activities include user account management, capacity planning, implementation, performance monitoring, troubleshooting of application environments and the information security of services and data. In addition, the team is responsible for application programming of specific applications like Remedy and Pinnacle.
The Data and Systems Integration team’s role is to help institutional clients, (internal and external) to best utilize the campus information technology infrastructure, specifically campus-wide file systems, web services, ecommerce and calendar offerings, directories and registries, and the computing security suite. The team is also responsible for inter-system integration support, including both inter-infrastructure and application-infrastructure work.
The Database Administration team is tasked with implementing operationally efficient databases for internal and external clients. This includes implementation, performance monitoring, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting of database environments. The database administration team is responsible for installing patches, writing scripts for monitoring database environments, and upgrading DBMS software. The Database Administration team supports both Oracle and Microsoft SQL.
