Application Support

What We Do

The Application Support team provides support for applications that are actively used within IT Services and across campus. Our team is responsible for the on-going operations of the systems listed below including configuration, administration, maintenance, system enhancements and upgrades, development, testing and trouble shooting, customer outreach, documentation and reporting, training, vendor relations, and product management.

The applications we support include:

  • Pinnacle is the application behind OrderIT, a web-based tool available for authorized users in schools and departments to view monthly IT Services statements, request services, and view online service information.

  • Remedy is the application behind Stanford’s central online help request form HelpSU. This system allows schools, departments, and central offices to track user service requests (Incidents).

  • Oracle Calendar is the application behind SunDial, Stanford’s university-wide calendar system provides an online personal agenda and the ability to schedule tasks, events, and meetings with other users.

  • Infra is the application used for Change Management, which provides a mechanism for the creation, approval, scheduling, and notification of change requests related to IT systems hardware and software at Stanford. Managed by IT Services, the system is used by numerous campus IT providers to ensure that standardized methods and techniques are implemented for efficient and prompt handling of IT changes to minimize the likelihood of disruption, unauthorized alterations, and errors.

  • Docushare is a web based content management system that provides a repository for files (all file types) via a browser. Additional features include version control and storage of multiple versions of documents, the ability to lock and unlock documents, the ability to configure notifications to alert you when content has been updated, and is secured by WebAuth (account management based on the SUNet account system).

  • CSGold is the application that enables access to a variety of facilities and services across the Stanford campus via the Stanford ID Card. Those services and facilities include access controls to doors buildings and rooms as well as the ability to purchase at Residence Halls and participating campus cafes, vending machines, as well as copying and printing machines in the libraries.

  • Lenel OnGuard is the application that enables access control, alarm monitoring, digital video, intrusion detection, asset tracking, information security integration, credential production, and employee and visitor management functionality.

  • Unanet is a web-based time tracking tool that IT Services uses internally to track staff work time. The organization uses the data collected in Timesheet to accurately set rates for services and to accurately forecast and report on staff resources supporting projects.

  • Pathworks is a web-based procedure authoring tool that IT Services uses track and store staff procedures.
