Overview

Indicorps, an innovative nonprofit based in India, offers fellowships for people of Indian origin to implement sustainable grassroots development projects with community-based organizations.  As an intense, total-immersion leadership program, Indicorps encourages individuals to explore their role as a catalyst for change.

The Award

Twenty-seven new projects were announced for the Indicorps 2011 Fellowship.  Fellows will tackle real challenges in education, microfinance, public health, women’s empowerment, environment, and more all across India. 
The start date of the award for the upcoming year is August 14, 2012. 
The program includes an intensive one-month orientation and bi-monthly workshops, personal and project support, food, housing, a stipend, and access to a broad network of inspiring change-makers.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible to apply, applicants must:

• Be of Indian origin (by the definition of the government of India) or Indian citizens
• Have, at minimum, a university degree or five years equivalent work experience
• Be passionate change-makers who are willing to live simply and who are committed to public service and personal growth
• Be willing to commit to the program for a minimum of one year
