Programs in the Stanford University AreaWherever you live, your will find a variety of opportunities for children of all ages! For example, Palo Alto's Recreation Department (1305 Middlefield, 463-4900) offers classes and sports, story hours at local libraries, a Junior Museum (1451 Middlefield Road, off Embarcadero), zoo, recreation programs and instruction in sports, nature, science and art. Pick up the quaterly schedule of programs, "Enjoy!" and "Parent" magazine at your nearest library or community center. Other communities offer similar programs. Youth programs at the YMCA include basketball, summer camps, and sleep overs during the school year. Visit the YMCA at 3412 Ross Road, Palo Alto, or telephone 856-9622 for the schedule of classes and membership fees.
