Looking for a Job

See the I-Center staff (Foreign Student or Scholar Advisers, Adviser to Families) for information on how your visa affects your employment situation. Those with J-2 visas can find out how to apply for permission to work from the Immigration and Naturalization Service. BCIS authorization may take up to 90 days.
Those with F-2 and other visas can explore alternatives related to their career interests.

  • The Career Development Center (723-3963), located at 459 Lagunita Drive #12, offers workshops in resume writing, interviewing, and job-hunting strategies. Job listings are housed in binders at the center. Full-time, part-time and temporary job listings are accessible online through the Cardinal Careers online job database, https://cdc-secure.stanford.edu/login/. Individual appointments with a career counselor can be arranged for students or spouses by calling 725-1789. For a listing of all services available for spouses, please come to the CDC.
