Dear Members of Stanford's International Community,

As I am sure you all know the main event which will take place on campus this week is the Reunion Homecoming Weekend which runs from tomorrow until Sunday October 12.

This event means there will be lots of extra people on campus as well as special events some which you are welcome to attend. For a list of events please see http://www.stanfordalumni.org/erc/reunions/rh08schedule.html.

Here are some of the events and activities which will take place at the I-Center in the next couple of weeks. For more information on any of these please keep reading below. Canadian Thanksgiving

The Canadian Thanksgiving is a celebration of the Autumn harvest on the second Monday of October. Please join us for the celebrations on the eve of the occasion over the comfort of a delicious meal, and with welcoming company, new and old. The Stanford German Student Association (SGSA) would like to cordially invite you to its annual Oktoberfest, with a traditional German-style BBQ (including "Thüringer Bratwurst", potato salad, Sauerkraut, bread, pretzels), beverages, music from the Karl-Lebherz-Band, and, of course, a selection of imported German beer.

Come for a nice afternoon in the sun with great food, bring family and friends, and practice your German. Plenty of free parking (after 4pm) is available at the Bechtel International Center.

TURKISH AFTERNOON AT LAKE LAG

Join Turkish students and recent Turkish alumni for a fun Sunday afternoon at Lake Lagunita! We invite everyone who is interested to get to know us and to grab some Turkish food.

When: 3-6 PM on Sunday, Oct 12th
Where: Lake Lagunita BBQ Pits
Organized by: Stanford Turkish Students Association

This event is graciously funded by the Billie Achilles Fund.
