Sunday January 22, 10.30 - 1 p.m. This event is to introduce the Stanford Community to a traditional Pakistani breakfast. PaS knows it is a delicacy, but we want to introduce this to the rest of the Stanford Community.

Fourth French Film Series

Students for Palestinian Equal Rights Film Series

Students for Palestinian Equal Rights will host a series of films every other week throughout winter quarter that encourage dialogue concerning Israeli apartheid and human rights abuses within Palestine.

“Women in a New Land”
February 15, 5:30 – 7 pm
Join us for the screening of this film featuring the lives of four spouses who came to Stanford to accompany their husbands. Created and filmed by Maria Vaccaro, herself a spouse from Belgium. The film illustrates the many challenges faced by women (with or without children) whose lives and careers are interrupted by this international experience. After the screening, share your impressions during an informal discussion with Gwyn Dukes and Anna Fernandez, who were involved in making the film.
International Women’s Day
March 8, 4 – 6 pm
Panel discussion and book signing “Women Prisoners: No Right to be a Mother”. The panel will focus on women’s incarceration in the US, its impact on family, community, recidivism, and possible solutions. The panel will bemoderated by Dr. Joan Petersilia from the Law School.
Wine Country Tour Bus Trip

March 24, 8:30 am – 7 :30 pm
First, we will take a private tour of Cline Cellars in Sonoma, including the mission model museum, barrel room, and crush pad followed by a private wine tasting. Followed by Artesa Winery. A 350-acre estate designed by architect Domingo Triay of Barcelona Spain. It features both man-made and natural materials to create inspiring outdoor environments. Third, we will take a guided tour through Beringer Bros. Winery in St. Helena; the oldest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley. Last, we will stop at Historic Downtown Sonoma, which features the Mission, Courthouse, shops, and restaurants.
