The Office of Foreign Scholar Services' reason for being is to facilitate the immigration component of the University's mission of teaching and research. We are located in the Bechtel International Center. Call us at 650-725-7400 or send email to foreign.scholars@stanford.edu

The Office is responsive to questions from departments regarding the use of and application for the various types of immigrant and nonimmigrant classifications the University uses to facilitate employment by nonresidents who require accommodation in faculty or postdoctoral research positions. Within the context of an offer of employment or affiliation, we also extend advice to members of the scholar community. However, please remember that actions taken on behalf of members of this community are driven by the decisions of the host departments. Bechtel International Center does not act solely at the request of a scholar or employee.
