Research Centers

The excellence of basic scholarship invigorates the intellectual life of the entire university. As Stanford pursues exciting and innovative multidisciplinary research, the School of Humanities and Sciences is providing both leadership and a foundation for success through its strength in basic scholarship.

At Stanford, it is the special job of the School of Humanities and Sciences to nourish the very idea of scholarship, to renew its form through supporting strong, creative, world-class research in the basic sciences, the social sciences and humanities.
