Funding Graduate Studies
In the School of Humanities and Sciences, doctoral students can apply for various doctoral fellowships, dissertation fellowships, Community Engagement Grants, and Graduate Research Opportunity (GRO) Funds which are administered by the School. Emergency Grant-in-Aid Funds have been established by the Office of Financial Aid to assist graduate students who experience a financial emergency or unanticipated expenses (e.g., medical, dental, or legal) that cause a significant hardship.

Campus Health Fee

The School of Humanities and Sciences does not pay the campus health services fee for doctoral students. University minimum RA/TA rates, based upon estimated graduate student living expenses including the campus health services fee, ensure that students receive funding to cover this fee as part of rate determination. Individual departments and programs, at their discretion, may include the campus health services fee as part of their graduate aid package. Limited funding is available for graduate students who need assistance paying for Campus Health Service Fee and Cardinal Care Insurance when those fees cause a significant hardship.
