Quillen has twelve stories, with 110 one bedroom apartments. Nearly all of the unfurnished apartments for couples are in Quillen. It has small ledges outside the living room's sliding glass door, large enough for some potted plants. On the first floor of Quillen is a large student lounge with a baby grand piano, couches, and a tv. The laundry room is in the basement.
Barnes is an eight-story building. Abrams, Hulme, Hoskins, and McFarland are very similar to Barnes. All have 63 one-bedroom apartments, each with a sliding glass door in the living room which opens out onto the balcony. There is a storage closet on each floor to be shared by the occupants of the floor. A laundry room in the basement is equipped with coing-operated washers and dryers.
Most one bedroom apartments for couples have queen-size beds. Some students ask if they can bring their own bed. If you do so, you will need to store the bed that is provided at your own expense. There is no storage available for unneeded furniture. (Some one bedroom apartments in Hoskins are not yet renovated and have linoleum floors, older furniture, and full-sized beds. Hoskins was renovated during the summer of 2001.)
This is a bedroom in an eight-story apartment building. It has a queen-size bed, desk, night stand, bookcase, and dressser. In this apartment, a second sliding glass door opens onto the balcony. Some apartments have a window in the bedroom, but not doors. Bed linen and towels are not included in a furnished apartment.
Here is a living room in one of the eight-story apartment buildings. Next to the dining room table, you can see part of the kitchenette. Next to the couch, out of view, is the sliding glass door to the balcony. Across from the couch, is a bookcase and dresser. Furniture, major appliances, and window coverings are included in a furnished apartment.
The kitchenette in the eight-story buildings includes a four-burner electric stove with a full-size oven, sink, garbage disposal unit, and a refrigerator/freezer (located across from the counter, out of view in the photo)..

The bathroom in the one bedrom apartment for couples includes a sink, toilet, bathtub with shower and a medicine cabinet. Furnished apartments are equipped with a shower curtain, but not towels.

This is the Barnes lounge, located on the first floor, next to the entrance. It has a tv and vcr, couches, chairs, and tables.
Here is a hallway in Barnes. Each floor has eight apartments, except the first floor, where there are seven. There are two elevators and two sets of stairs.
Here is a full-length shot of one of the eight story apartment buildings. They look very similar, but this is Hoskins.
Some couples are assigned to one bedroom loft apartments. Here is the entrance to one of them. Take a look at the interior photos below.
The loft's living room is on the first floor, along with the dining room and kitchen. It has a desk, dresser, bookcase, coffee table, sofa, and end table.
The stairs in living room go up to the bedroom and bathroom. There is a storage closet under the stairs.
The kitchen of the loft apartment has a full-size stove and refrigerator/freezer and a sink with a garbage disposal.
The bedroom has a queen-size bed, dresser, bookcase and built-in cabinets.
Here's another photo of the loft's bedroom, showing the bookcase and dresser. The window is covered with horizontal window blinds.
Built-in cabinets with a rail above them form a half-wall overlooking the living room of the loft apartment.
Here's a photo of the loft's bathroom, showing the toilet, sink and medicine cabinet.
Here is the bathtub with shower. The bathroom includes a shower curtain, but no towels.
Here is the storage and clothes closet, across from the bathroom. Pictured are a pillow, a basket and some books on the shelves, shown to illustrate relative size.
Here is the backyard of the loft. There is a small patio, with an enclosure for bike storage.
Between most of the lowrise buildings are fenced courtyards.
