The University of California Italian Studies Multicampus Research Group, 
CICIS Graduate Student Paper Prize
 
The UC ISMRG is pleased to announce that we will once again sponsor this prize in the amount of $500.
 
The winning graduate student paper will also be eligible for publication in the journal California Italian Studies [CIS], a new digital,peer-reviewed scholarly journal committed to publishing in a timely manner the finest, most innovative, and most potentially influential scholarly work being done internationally in the field of Italian Studies, including topics related to Italy in any discipline or cross-disciplinary and comparative field of inquiry, from the Middle Ages to the present.
 
The Prize Committee is composed of CICIS members representing different disciplines, time periods, and campuses.
 
Papers will be judged on the following criteria: originality and contribution to their field; research and scholarship; writing and style.
 
Last year's Prize recipient was Corinne Weiben (UC Santa Barbara), for her paper titled:
"'As men do with their wives':  Domestic Violence in Fourteenth-Century Lucca."
