Jeffrey Schnapp's Crowds Captures a Book Award
Crowds, published last year by the Stanford University Press, has won the Modernist Studies Association's prize as the best book in the field of studies of modernism and modernity published in 2006. The book was edited by Professor Jeffrey Schnapp of the French & Italian Department and Matthew Tiews, associate director of the Stanford Humanities Center.

the American Academy
of Arts and Sciences
Professor Robert Harrison has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. This is an extraordinary honor, recognizing Robert's many contributions to humanistic scholarship, including most recently his widely translated book The Dominion of the Dead.
