Exit Interview and Loan Repayment

For Federal Perkins loans or Stanford University Long Term Loans, contact
the Student Financial Services Office at (650) 723-2181 for exit counseling and necessary information regarding deferment procedures and repayment dates.

For Federal Stafford Loans, contact your bank, credit union or servicer, and contact the Financial Aid Office for exit counseling or materials covering repayment responsibilities.

For SNAP loans, contact Nelnet at (866) 866-7372.

The grace period for Federal Stafford and SNAP loans is six months, and the grace period for Federal Perkins Loans is nine months. Leaving Stanford without college enrollment elsewhere for longer than six or nine months will require students to begin repayment of their loans. Students with any awards from outside agencies must contact those organizations directly.
